We Now Meet at Farragut High School
Water's Edge is Merging with TriStar Church
What does it mean that Water's Edge is merging with TriStar Church?
A church merger is a bit like a marriage. What it looks like for the two to become one is a bit of a mystery. And all of us who are married know that oneness is both something that is true the moment you say "I do", but it is also a lifelong process of becoming ONE. And few things are as refining as learning to live as ONE.
Water’s Edge is not coming to an end. WE is much more than a Sunday service that meets at AL Lotts but it is made up of its people. Water’s Edge people and TriStar people are becoming ONE. When we talk about merging this is what we are talking about. Much more can be said about this, but suffice it to say that any time TWO become ONE there can be a sense of loss, and certainly some fear that comes with change. Both those from Water’s Edge and those from TriStar are approaching this from the perspective that we are both committed to giving 100% to this
endeavor.
This merger of our TWO churches into ONE has the backing of the leadership team’s at Water’s Edge, TriStar, and Fellowship Church. The elder board at Fellowship along with RD McClenagan, Fellowship’s lead pastor, have strongly endorsed the merger.
There is a growing sense that the Holy Spirit has been the author of this process and direction. There is an opportunity to strengthen our ministry together, expand our reach together, and better serve our community together. We really do believe that we will be better together, for the glory of God.
